A report in the Business Report (4 September 2006) stated that the final BEE codes are ready for approval and would be presented to cabinet this month

No details have been released other than indications are that the codes have been made easier to understand. A recent report quoted the trade and industry minister as saying the number of indicators in employment equity was being reduced from 13 to 3 - though it appears he was referring to skills development.
