In order to meet BEE requirements to earn full points for procurement, your company must keep track of each supplier and their BEE score. Each supplier should provide a valid BEE certificate. The certificate must be renewed each year and this data must be recorded annually. While many suppliers do have valid BEE certificates, each needs to be checked to ensure they are correct and not misrepresenting their score. The many suppliers that do not have a valid certificate need to be reminded and encouraged to obtain a certificate.
BEE Procured is a massive database of BEE compliant suppliers built up over 5 years containing thousands of companies with certificates. Each scorecard for each company has been analysed based on the score, recognition level, black ownership, black female ownership, value adding status, rated date, expiry date, type of supplier and has an electronic copy of the certificate uploaded.
The more suppliers’ scorecards you have the more points you can claim on your BEE profile under the procurement element.

How to Optimise BEE Procurement The best way to maximize your procurement score is to evaluate all suppliers based on year-to-date procurement spend. The My Procurement section of BEE Procured is a powerful system that links your supplier’s spend with suppliers’ BEE credentials that are available on our database. In this way a company can quickly evaluate their Preferential Procurement using 100% accurate data without having to phone for certificates. My Procurement also allows a quick import and update facility to import new suppliers or instantly update existing supplier data. This will allow you to calculate procurement on a month by month basis. My Procurement will calculate your preferential procurement score when you want it. My Procurement will give you a report on your compliant and non-compliant suppliers. My Procurement saves time in contacting suppliers, obtaining certificates and analysing scorecards. My Procurement produces a verification ready spreadsheet.
Time wasted… not any more… BEE Procured is constantly building on its scorecard database.

Cost Over time Preferential Procurement can become a very costly exercise – hundreds of telephone calls and faxes, dedicated support staff and the recurring management problem associated with a large database. My Procurement will supply you with a facility to effectively manage your entire supplier database. You need only email and phone when required or view a series of reports that guide you through the procurement maze. Non-response There are instances where suppliers simply do not respond to your calls or emails. Through the BEE Procured database we can pool buying power when requesting a BEE Certificate. Through the management interface of BEE Procured you can effectively pick out suppliers who have not responded and create a series of file notes. In 2012, the targets increase BEE Procurement targets are increasing in 2012. Any scorecard produced after 9th February 2012 will have to use the new targets which go up from 50% to 70% for all suppliers, and by similar amounts for the other indicators. Even companies that have reached targets in 2010 or 2011 will have to do a lot more work if they want to remain at the same BEE compliant level in 2012.
Optimise your BEE Procurement score by instantly searching for suppliers on our massive database of BEE Scorecards.
