The dti has now announced that they will be extending the transitional period by 6 months to August. I do apologize for providing outdated information in my newsletter.

The dti has issued a proclamation extending this date which will be available in hard-copy from the government printer next week.

The affect is only to continue allowing enterprises to use a narrow based scorecard in its calcuation of points, if that enterprise so chooses. Nothing else regarding BEE or the codes will be affected, other than the dti having egg on its face for continuing to delay implementation of the codes, and we have to say, ourselves for providing you with this out of date information.
