B-BBEE (Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment) or BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) Becoming BEE Compliant is an essential part of doing business in South Africa. All companies who deal with government will be asked for a BEE scorecard. Preferential Procurement (an element on the BEE scorecard) requires a company to ask their suppliers for a BEE Scorecard in order to earn some BEE points. This creates a vast network of companies needing a BEE scorecard. When starting the process, one needs as much information about BEE as possible. It is essential to get an understanding of what BEE is, how it affects your company and what you need to do in order to create a scorecard as quickly and cost effectively as possible. We have collected useful documents - Acts, the codes of good practice and B-BBEE related documentation. We have prepared various articles describing general terms and technical analysis of BEE. If you are starting out for the first time we have also prepared a summary "crash course - BEE in 5 Minutes". In addition we send out a regular newsletter which contains useful commentary, compliance tips, news and quality information aimed at helping all companies produce a BEE scorecard and become BEE compliant. |
