We had a very interesting workshop in Potchefstroom on October 2006. The venue was Futurum Finance group offices (www.ffg.co.za). The event was kindly arranged for us by Gerald van der Merwe of Berts Bricks.
In total 23 delegates attended, ranging from companies with turnovers from R500 million down to R1.5 million. Most were generic companies.
We covered the theory of BBBEE, through the elements and indicators. We had a detailed discussion arond equity ownership, and various options thereof.
It was a full day workshop 8:30 to 16:30, with enough time to answer good questions.
Delegates told us they found the workshop very valuable, and will be using the knowledge gained in making better decisions for their businesses. All delegates were given a copy of EconoBEE Scorecard. Within a day many had installed the software proving they found it interesting - quite encouraging from our side.
