| Description | On 31 December 2010, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies (MP) published an intended amendment of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Codes of Good Practice. Section 10 of Code 000, Statement 000 is hereby amended by deletion of Section 10 and the addition of Statement 005. The intended amendment aims to facilitate the incorporation of Registered Auditors approved by the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors (IRBA) to conduct B-BBEE Verifications, in accordance with the approval granted by the Department of Trade and Industry. As of 1 April 2011, only B-BBEE status level certificates issued by Verification Agencies that have been accredited by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) and Registered Auditors approved by the IRBA will be valid.
Interested persons have a period of 60 days from the date of publication of this Notice (31 December 2010) to comment on the intended amendment.
